God will make a way.  He will find a way to accomplish what he wants to accomplish,
whether that’s through people or in spite of them - often against overwhelming odds. 
In the book of 1 Samuel we see God going into action, making a way during a very dark
time for the Old Testament People of God.  And as God makes his way and creates his
movement, the question is who will get on the way with him and who will need to get out
of the way. 

Each of the people in 1 Samuel and the variety of stories that they experience are channels
for God to speak to us today:

• We are encouraged to believe that God will make a way, that he will come
  through and accomplish great things against impossible human odds.  

• We are taught to discern God’s movement, how is God working around us? 
  Where is his “way making” flowing?

• We are challenged to align our lives with what God is doing.  There are clear
  sides in the drama of life.  We have to choose.  We can move with God on his
  way and as a result, experience God’s protection and blessing.

• We are challenged to make sure we are not in God’s way.  If we’re in his way,
  things are not going to go well for us.  The hard edge of the challenge here is the
  possibility that some of the rough stuff we’ve gone through in our lives is due
  directly to the fact that we’ve gotten in God’s way.
