Jesus said he came to offer us life. But there is another figure in this dramatic contest over our souls, the thief. He says the thief's purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. This is the portrait of the user. The thief is any person, possession, experience, pattern of thinking or way of relating that would rob us of the life that God longs to give us.
